Chrissy Teigen has never claimed to be an entomologist, which is why she probably didn’t know what was happening when she let her two-year-old daughter Luna kiss a scary looking bug. She recently shared a video on Twitter of her and her Luna playing a game they call “What’s this bug?”
In the video, a bug flies sits on Teigen’s arm. She asks, “What is this Luna?” When Luna sweetly answers, “A bug!” Teigen asks if she wants to give the bug a kiss. Teigen captioned the cute video “I swear to god if one of you tell me this is a deadly bug I will vomit.” Well, about that
Turns out the "bug?" It was a type of spider wasp called a tarantula hawk, isn’t exactly deadly, but fans pointed out in response to the video that the wasp’s sting can hurt pretty bad and even cause paralysis. The good news? The bug is described by the Natural History Museum as “fairly docile unless provoked.” A kiss doesn’t count as provoking, right?
- The sting Chrissy is totally used to? People coming for her on social media. People of course totally swarmed Chrissy with criticism - and she pushed back. “Okay should I not hold potentially deadly creatures? No. Should I do it around my daughter? Super no," she says. "But it crawled on me and seemed injured and well, not angry, not scary. And I’m normally super freaked.” See the original video and more below.
