Ask and you shall receive! And that’s exactly what happened for homeless web developer David Casarez. On Friday, Casarez began his weekend standing next to a busy road in Mountain View, California. And he wasn’t asking for money – but a job. No kidding – and to prove the point, he was in a shirt and tie.
His sign read, “HOMELESS. HUNGRY 4 SUCCESS. TAKE A RESUME.” Long story short? IT WORKED. His story went viral after someone posted snapshot of David on Twitter. He’s since received job offers from over 200 companies including Google, Pandora, Bitcoin and a slew of startups.
After living out of his van for more than a year, David’s life is turning around – because someone (in this case, Jasmine Scofield) paid attention and got involved. “I was thinking you know, like this was like my last stop,” says David. “If this didn’t work, I’d go back home and give up on my dream.” Looks like you won’t have to.
