posted by Big Al -

Aretha Franklin's body has arrived a Detroit museum, where a public viewing will be held today and tomorrow (Wednesday).

Franklin will lie in an open, gold-trimmed casket at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History.  A photograph posted by Entertainment Tonight shows the singer dressed in a decorative red dress and matching high heels.

This begins four days of remembrance for the music icon, who kept her home in Detroit even as the city she loved went through difficult times.

Thursday night, a range of performers spanning R&B and gospel to dance, jazz and blues will salute her in an outdoor concert at Chene Park Amphitheater.

Franklin's funeral service is set for Friday at Detroit’s Greater Grace Temple. Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Ronald Isley, Chaka Khan and Jennifer Hudson will sing, and former President Bill Clinton, Smokey Robinson, former attorney general Eric Holder, Cicely Tyson, Clive Davis, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, the Reverend Al Sharpton, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan will deliver speeches.
