What would you do if you found a bunch of cash and had no way to identify the owner?
When it happened to Rhami Zeini, he did the right thing and turned it in.
The 16-year-old was driving home from school in Santa Barbara, California when he spotted a black purse in the middle of the road and pulled over to get a closer look.
When the high school junior looked inside, he found more money than he’d ever laid eyes on: $10,000 in cash. Rhami couldn’t find the owner’s info, so he told his parents and they took him to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office to turn it in. The owner was located and the money was returned, thanks to the honest teen. The purse’s owner was so grateful, she gave him $100 for his good deed.
"To me, I figured this is the right thing to do," Rhami says. "If the roles were reversed and I had lost something with a significant sum of money inside, I know I would want it back for sure."
