Bill Cosby is settling into his new role as “inmate” after being labeled a sexually violent predator and sentenced to three to ten years in Pennsylvania state prison.
When he’s released, he’ll have to register as a sex offender and undergo lifetime counseling and report to authorities every quarter.
Now that Cosby is a convict, he’s in good company. Martha Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Phil Spector, and Wesley Snipes have all spent time behind bars.
Unfortunately, for Cosby, the repercussions are continuing. The Television Critics Association has voted to rescind the Career Achievement Award they gave to Bill in 2002. This marks the first time the TCA has ever taken away an award. The revocation of the honor will be noted in the organization’s official online records.
And Twitter exploded – both for and against the disgraced comedian. One user said, “Soooo…Bill Cosby gets convicted for sexual assault that happened decades ago and will serve three to ten years in prison. BUT Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaults someone decades ago and is gonna serve on the bench as a Supreme Court Justice!” Chelsea Handler said, “Bill Cosby is set to serve 3 to 10 years in prison, but when he’s released he’s expected to be nominated to the Supreme Court.” The best tweet of all was this – “The truth is…we loved Cliff Huxtable…but just didn’t really know Bill Cosby.”
