As we previously told you, Kelly Clarkson took to Facebook to sing a little song to get people to the polls for the midterms, and it turns out it was part of a celebrity-filled social media campaign to get out the vote.
John Legend and songwriter/producer Linda Perry are behind the short song Kelly sings, and both Legend and Perry shared video of them singing it as well, as did Christina Aguilera.
And there will be more videos to come. Alicia Keys, Cameron Crowe, Natasha Bedingfield, Jessica Simpson, Sara Gilbert and Angel Haze have all signed on for the social media campaign, which will feature a new song each Tuesday up until the November 6th election.
- “I believe in taking control of your future,” Perry shares. “Over 90 million people felt their voice didn’t matter and wouldn’t be heard. So I thought it was important to let people no that their voice DOES matter and will be heard, no matter what their choice.” She adds, “John Legend and I wanted to write a little song for people to do their own version and post themselves. We wrote this while I was on a plane to NY and John was home in LA.” Check out Legend and Perry’s videos to the right.
