Butte County #CampFire Wildfire Grows to 70,000 Acres, People Flee on Foot

 

Update: The Camp Fire has burned through thousands of structures in the town of Paradise. 70,000 acres and is only five percent contained. Their are also five people who were killed.

An 18,000-acre fire has forced several evacuations in Butte County.  

The town of Pulga and several areas of Paradise have been told to evacuate, according to the Butte County Sheriff's Office and CHP Oroville. 

The fire is moving towards the hospital on Pentz Road, according to CHP Oroville.  The fire is burning in the Camp Creek Road area near Highway 70 in the Feather River Canyon. As of 2:30 p.m., the fire was estimated to be 18,000 acres in size, Cal Fire said.  The fire, named the Camp Fire, started Thursday morning at 6:33 a.m.
