A pregnant woman in Louisiana recently crossed the stage at her college graduation while in active labor. Despite painful the contractions, Anshonarial Greenhouse said she wanted to show her 10-year-old daughter the importance of education. “If she sees me doing my work, she does hers. It’s showing her versus telling her,” she explained.
Apparently this last semester hasn’t been an easy road for the Louisiana State University graduate. During the last few weeks, she was admitted to the hospital for having early contractions. So Greenhouse completed her midterms, finals and even did live stream presentations all from her hospital bed. However, when it came to her big day, she wanted to walk with her classmates.
The 31-year-old was prepared for occasion. Under her doctor’s advisement, she did have a wheelchair and ambulance on deck. Soon as she walked off stage she was taken back to the hospital and gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Zaire. Even though the experience was “rough,” Greenhouse said she’s blessed to have two dreams come true on the same day.
