Jay Z and Meek Mill just unveiled their new criminal justice reform organization called REFORM alliance. They also joined forces with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai, Van Jones, and others.
Van serves as the CEO for the reform group, whose mission is to reform and eliminate outdated laws that perpetuate injustice, starting with probation and parole. The founders have collectively pledged $50 million to get the alliance started.
Meek also shared in statement why this is the most importing thing he’s done in his life. “If you thought my case was unfair, there are millions of others dealing with worse situations and caught up in the system without committing crimes. With this alliance, we want to change outdated laws, give people hope and reform a system that’s stacked against us.”
