Just about every critic and social media know-it-all hated Maroon 5 's Super Bowl halftime performance -- but the appearance gave the band a huge sales boost anyway.
According to Nielsen Music, Adam Levine and company sold 24,000 downloads in the 24 hour period after the game -- nearly five times the number they moved the day before. Most of the sales came from the six songs they played at the game.
Rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi also had good post-game results, with sales of Outkast 's "I Like the Way You Move," which was dropped into the set, up more than 3,400 percent. ( Billboard )
