A 27-year-old Indian man is suing his parents for giving birth to him without his consent.
Raphael Samuel, who calls himself an anti-natalist , argues that his parents had no right to bring him into the world, and since they did so without his permission, they should be forced to pay him for the rest of his life.
Anti-natalism is a philosophy that believes the world would be better off with fewer people. Samuel appears in a YouTube video, wearing a disguise and explaining why he's suing his parents. He says, "If we are born without our consent, we should be maintained for our life. We should be paid by our parents to live... To children, I would like to say: Do not do anything for your parents if you do not want to. If you want to, if you truly genuinely feel like doing it, do it."
Samuel's parents, who both happen to be lawyers, say they have a great relationship with their son and are fine with his attempt to sue them. In fact, his mother says, "If Raphael could come up with a rational explanation as to how we could have sought his consent to be born, I will accept my fault." ( Fox News )
