Several residents spoke out Tuesday evening during a Sacramento City Council meeting against the police department’s actions during a protest the day before, reports KCRA-TV
Eighty-four people were arrested Monday night following a march through the East Sacramento neighborhood. Demonstrators were protesting the Sacramento County District Attorney's findings in Stephon Clark's police shooting death. Community members said they were angered by police tactics and the arrests.
A recess was called about an hour and a half into the city council meeting after the cousin of Stephon Clark stood on the podium and began chanting. Mayor Darrell Steinberg called the recess, saying the meeting will resume after "things calm down."
