Teen with Terminal Cancer Celebrates School Graduation in Early Ceremony

A Texas high school recently a held special graduation ceremony for one of its students. 

Crystal Iris Marquez wanted to celebrate her milestone early in case her cancer battle prevented her from walking in her graduation. The 17-year-old was diagnosed with sarcoma in her shoulder in 2015. She beat the disease in 2015 thanks to chemotherapy, but the cancer returned and spread to other parts of her body. 

 

Crystal decided to not to continue treatment. The brave teen said her wish was to enjoy prom and graduation with her classmates while she still remains strong. Even though her current prognosis is terminal, she’s praying for a miracle.
