Jay-Z's 'Blueprint' Album (2001) is now basically considered a national treasure!
The album is one of 25 records to be added to The Library of Congress' National Recording Registry. The songs selected range across all musical genres and are "vital to our nation's audio legacy," according to CBS News.
"The National Recording Registry honors the music that enriches our souls, the voices that tell our stories, and the sounds that mirror our lives," Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden told CBS. "The Library of Congress and its many collaborators are working to preserve these sounds and moments in time, which reflect our past, present and future."
Artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Nina Simone and Cyndi Lauper are also being recognized alongside HOV.
'The Blueprint' includes hits like 'Izzo (H.O.V.A)', 'The Ruler's Back' , "Takeover' and more. These songs will now live on being recognized for generations to come.
