“Star Wars" Getting A Makeover By the "Game Of Thrones" Creators

Last month, Disney announced that “Game Of Thrones” creators David Benioff and DB Weiss are producing a series of “Star Wars” films. While details were scarce at the time, and still officially are, there are some rumors going around about the project.

Basically, the “GOT” creators are giving the franchise a makeover, and fans may get to see it for themselves on the big screen sooner than they think. An anonymous source tells the fan siteStar Wars News Netthat Disney wants to “open up the timeline” of “Star Wars” to “appeal to a more ‘Game Of Thrones’-style audience.” The films may be set centuries before Skywalker’s saga, back during the Old Republic.

Mirrorreports that shooting is kicking off later this year in the fall. The timing makes sense, since both “Star Wars” and “Game Of Thrones” as fans know them are coming to a close – “Star Wars” with episode nine, and “GOT” with season eight. For now, this is all just speculation, but we’ll keep you posted.
