A Florida community pitched in to donate a new car to a young woman raising her siblings.
Samantha Rodriguez has been taking care of her younger siblings since losing their parents to cancer in recent years. The children range in age from six to 15 and she admits that it’s been hard juggling everything her own. Thankfully the new car has relieved some of the pressure for the 20-year-old.
For the record, the gift idea started back in December when the Orange County Sheriff’s Office surprised the family with Christmas gifts and shared their story on Facebook. The post prompted responses from anonymous donors who decided to chip in and buy the family a Nissan Versa. “You don’t know how much this means to us,” Samantha said when the Sheriff department unveiled her new ride. “It’s such a big help. I’m so glad to have people like you guys in my life.”
