Dog Found Paddling 130 Miles From Shore Rescued By Oil Workers #GoodNews

Oil rig workers were shocked to see a dog paddling through the ocean about 130-miles off shore and were able to rescue her.

The brown Aspin dog was stranded in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand and is believed to have fallen off of a fishing boat.

Workers saw her head poking up above water as she did the doggie paddle toward their platform. She managed to make it there and cling to a pole on the platform while they figured out how to save her. Finally, they tied a rope around her neck and pulled her up to safety. She was shivering and exhausted, but okay, according to VitisakPayalaw, of Chevron Thailand’s Exploration and Production oil drilling team.

He says, “If the waves had been strong, we wouldn’t have seen her.” Now the pooch has been named “ Boonrod” and has been taken to shore to an animal charity, but her rescuer, Payalaw, hopes to adopt her soon. He says, “I am looking forward to spending many happy years together with her.”
