At Super Bowl LII, Justin Timberlake performed at the halftime show and included a Prince tribute via a projection of the late legend singing a portion of "I Would Die 4 U."
Many people on social media had different views about this. Before Prince's death, he admitted how he hated holograms and any forms of digitized screens that showed dead artists performing onstage. So, many true fans of The Purple One believed that he wouldn't have approved of this part of the performance with JT. Fans also brought up the beef Timberlake and Prince previously had. However, others believed the projection was a sweet moment and the city of Philadelphia being lit up in purple was a great touch.
After the performance, JT appeared on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon." That's when the singer revealed the real reason he decided to include a Prince tribute in his halftime show.
